2. How does Life Coaching differ from Leadership Coaching?
Life Coaching focuses on personal development, helping individuals clarify their goals, improve relationships, and enhance overall life satisfaction. Leadership Coaching, on the other hand, is specifically tailored for leaders and executives in the workplace, aiming to improve leadership skills, strategic thinking, and organizational impact.
3. What can I expect from a Coaching session?
During a coaching session, you can expect open and confidential conversations. As the coach, I will ask powerful questions to help you explore your goals, identify obstacles, and create action plans. It's a dynamic process where I provide support, guidance, and accountability to help you achieve desired outcomes.

11. How long have you been coaching? Are you Certified through the International Coaching Federation?
I started my coaching journey while in the throws of the pandemic in 2020. I graduated from Erickson Coaching International in April of 2021. I coached throughout my hands-on training and continued to coach after I graduated. I am currently working on my ICF Certification, and anticipate completing by August, 2024.
12. Can I pay in installments and do you take insurance?
Individual Coaching packages and ad hoc sessions must be paid up front at the time of scheduling. Executive and Leadership Coaching packages can be paid in installments and are agreed upon as part of the initial coaching contract. Unfortunately, I do not take insurance at this time.
13. What are examples of types of clients you have served or issues you have helped to address?
Often people reach out for coaching because of a single issue that is at the surface. Just like an iceberg, the part of the issue that we see is only a fraction of the whole. Once we dig deeper into who they are, what impact they are intending and their values, the issue often changes. This is when the fun work of helping them find the answers they already have begins.
An example of a Life Coaching client is a working mother who felt that there was not enough time in the day for her kids, husband, commute and demanding job. Through our work together, she realized that her scarcity mentality around time was depriving her of the most magical moments with her kids and work. She saw that by implementing new systems, asking for help and slowing down, she could get out of her fight or flight mode and embrace gratitude for the amazing life she had built.
A Leadership Coaching example is my experience working with a new manager who was recently promoted. They were struggling with boundaries and oscillating from wanting to be a friend so did not interfere to micromanaging their staff. We worked through what leadership means to them as well as their vision for the company, team and career. Through exercises and addressing difficult questions, they were able to fully embrace their new role and continue to be a thoughtful and successful leader.
14. What is your personal leadership style and how does that impact your Executive and Leadership Coaching?
I have been a leader in the higher education field for almost 20 years and prior to that lead the creation of an artist coop in Jamaica as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Through those years I have intentionally learned, grown and adapted my leadership style to meet the needs of the organization, my staff and supervisors. I believe that the best leaders must be able to inspire, manage, create strategic systems , empower and build culture within their teams and organization. We must be able to actively listen, have difficult conversations, be clear in our communication. High emotional intelligence, resiliency and strategic decision making are key.
I understand that leadership styles and cultural organizations vary. It is not my place, as the coach, to dictate the type of leader that is needed within an organization. I bring my wealth of experience to help each person I coach to become the leader, or person, they truly want to be.
15. Why do you coach?
I coach because it brings me joy. When I conducted my own life audit in 2020 (which is an activity I often do with my coachees), I noticed that I was not living within my value of Giving Back as much as I wanted. This guiding value of Giving Back is the foundation of my coaching. Every successful coaching session where there is an "ah-ha" moment, a point of clarity, a break through...is the reason I coach. I realized that I have a gift for asking the right questions, creating space and seeing the patterns people present. Having the opportunity to show up fully and partner with someone through their journey is a gift.
16. Who drew the pictures on your site?
In my house, coaching is a family affair. My family has been with me on the journey of learning, exploring, launching and now growing my coaching business. It is important for my kids to see me struggle, be vulnerable, choose to be brave and go for my dreams. So when I needed a style, logo and pictures for my brand, I looked within. I give full credit to my daughter, Lotus, for the design of the beautiful images and style of my B. Young Coaching brand. Through this process she learned how hard it can be to take what someone describes in words and create images that match those in their heads. I truly appreciate her patience and artistic support.
When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.
